This is a story which follows the path of how we come to source our top quality granite, and compare it to its parallel poor quality granite counterpart.
Granite is one of the oldest stones in the world and as you can see both premium and cheap granite begins life in the Earth and is mined from our stone suppliers.

.jpg)
Once mined, our quality granite is sorted into rough blocks and inspected by our expert professionals who are amongst the best in the industry. Such rigorous inspections are fundamental to supplying our clients with only the best granite in the field.
Poor quality granite however is not subjected to such inspections and poor quality often seeps through, giving you the customer the worst possible stone for your kitchen or bathroom.

.jpg)
We only deal with the best quality stone possible as we’ll settle for nothing less than the very best for our clients….
However other companies will only sell cheap and un-inspected stone and dress it up as the best around. But it couldn’t be further from the truth!

As we are only interested in premium quality granite. Although they are more difficult to source, it is ultimately worth it as it ensures you are given the best quality stone around in the industry.
Or you can opt for cheap granite, where it’s left unattended and exposed like these small cheap blocks ready for mass shipment. We would never accept as poor a quality as this and we wouldn’t want you to either.

.jpg)
The hunt for premium quality granite is a tough one, with quarries (as a rough estimate) only having 20% of the top quality granite available the vast majority of the time. For the rest of time, you are likely to get passable commercial quality stone or worse still, sub-standard quality stone.
For other companies though, the quality of the stone is the last thing on their minds. All they are interested in is the price and getting the cheapest possible in order to increase their profit margins. They don’t care about the durability of the stone and they don’t care about client.

Once we have our stone, it is important to us that our slabs are cut to perfection to ensure that your worktop completely meets your requirements. These Italian gang saws, which will ensure your slabs, are cut to the highest possible standards.
For other companies though, smaller and cheaper equipment is the order of the day, which only leads to the worst possible quality for your new worktop. With straight edges hardly ever the result, you are left with a jagged slab that no-one will likely ever accept.

Our slabs are now ready for polishing and all are done so at the earliest possible stage to give our stone a top quality finish. Because our stone is cut to the highest professional standards, the process is made all the more simpler and more efficient.
This is in stark contrast to our cheap granite over here, which has now been poorly prepared in small blocks ready for polishing.

With our slabs polished, they are sorted accordingly and are ready for inspection, soon to be shipped to us here in the UK. With so many inspection tests to pass, all the sub standard stone doesn’t stand a chance in making it to our showroom. You can guarantee you’ll only receive the best with us.
You don’t have this guarantee however with other companies. These small slabs here are ready for shipment, but after seeing the way they’ve been prepared, do you really want to invest in a worktop from a company of such poor production values?

.jpg)
As we only deal with the finest granite possible, we make every effort to get the widest range of stone available for you to choose from. We have over 200 colours of quartz-composite for example. Could you find this from any other company? We doubt it.
For the cheap companies however, you will severely struggle to get such a range to choose from. Remember these are companies that will do everything they can to cut costs, so they’ll only ever invest in popular commercial stone. For diversity, you are definitely better off with us.

Our polishing line technology is amongst the best available anywhere in the field. You can guarantee that all our stones are polished with a consistent finish, providing for the best stone for your kitchen.
Beware however, as not all companies go to such lengths to ensure their stone is finished to such high standards. They’ll hire people to do all their polishing by hand! This results in blotches aplenty and the worst look imaginable for your kitchen.

.jpg)
All our slabs are given the state of the art polishing treatment, to provide the ultimate centrepiece for your kitchen.
But other slabs aren’t subjected to such high quality treatment, as hand polishers can’t provide the same results as our high quality machinery. You can expect a blotchy, poorly finished stone if you don’t choose us.

.jpg)
The results speak for themselves. Here’s a stone that has been through our state of art mechanical polisher. It has an irresistible finish and wouldn’t look out of place in any new kitchen if you installed it immediately.
But what a contrast with hand polishers. Poor equipment and facilities mean that you are left with a sub-standard and sorry looking stone that will look out of place in your new kitchen. It’ll be a far cry from the kitchen you’ve always dreamt of.

Our polishing line has 22 different polishing heads each slab is individually levelled and calibrated to the highest standards possible.
Such standards are not applicable though to other companies who choose to use hand polishing tools. It never creates the same effect as our machinery and slabs are thus often left to be uneven.

After polishing, all our slabs are rigorously checked and inspected to ensure our stone is the best it possibly can be for our clients. If it doesn’t pass the test, it doesn’t make it through.
There are no such tests with other companies however, who may have three different polishers working throughout their stone range. You could end up with three different stone finishes! Is this what you want for your new kitchen installation.

The way in which we finish our slabs is extremely important to us and again we only use the highest grade technology possible to apply all our edging
But professional finishing of this nature won’t be present with other companies. Their hand tools simply can’t match the efficient service and edging that we can provide.

.jpg)
Our sink cut outs within our worktops are also state of the art, and are accurately measured to ensure you 100% satisfaction. Our CNC machine is the best in the business and can’t be matched by cut outs by hand. The quality and precision of our service shines through every time.
Cut outs by hand are far from ideal. But this is what you’ll receive if you go with other companies. The worktops may be out of sync and the sink cut-out in the wrong place. Is this really what you want to invest in?

If you buy your worktop without visiting the showroom or seeing what is available then you are risking a great deal with your new installation. Why not come along to our showroom today to see our diverse portfolio up close today
You rarely get this service with other companies. And you also run the risk of purchasing stone that’s unpolished or even worse have edges which have been polished using dry pads and thus ruining the effect of the worktop. We only polish our worktops using water, and thus creating an effect that will last for generations.
.jpg)

All our granite is 100% genuine and you can expect nothing but the best when you work with us. What you won’t get, is an ordinary stone that has just been painted black in order to create the effect of jet black granite
But this sort of practice is commonplace within the industry with other companies leaving you with a poorer quality stone that you’ve invested in.

Many of our clients begin their enquiries in the same way by asking how much our stone costs. Ultimately every stone is different and as a result every stone has a different price. Our estimates are in depth and accurate, they won’t differ much as we progress through the process.
Other companies meanwhile won’t be as honest and will try to hook you in with a cheap price to initially entice you. They’ll then add more as you go along and in the end you end up paying a great deal more than the introductory price. With Do Stone, you can expect nothing but honesty from us and an accurate breakdown of all your costs.
